During my first pregnancy I gained 28 pounds and I was induced at 38 week n 3rd day cause I was continuesly had false labor pains..
gaining weight during pregnancy is very important and necessary but it has nothing to do with baby’s delivery..

I was due october 19th, went in to Labor and Delivery at 10 am that day and ended up giving birth at 2:11 am ( so it turned into oct 20th)…. I gained 32 lbs which was all water because after he came out, I looked as if I never had a kid. Thank god!

  17. Lypipher says:

lets see, i think i gained about 70 lbs, and my body tried to kill me at about 34 weeks. then again i had twins, so the weight gain was normal, and the early ‘get the babies out!’ reaction of my body.

  18. phallal3 says:

I gained 34 lbs total and up until my 7th month I had only gained 13 lbs so those last 2 months I blew up and I have the stretch marks to prove it! I delivered 2 days before my due date….went into labor 3 days before. Best of luck to you and your little one on the way!

  19. ? says:

With my 1st I gained 24lbs and slim built and delivered on my due date .
Currently going into 34 wks have gained 17-18lbs and Dr. said will go full term . I’m in much better shape this time and pre-pregnancy I was very lean and I still have a good amount of muscle mass this far along . Oops just re-read your post I have not gained a lot . Anyway , I don’t think it matters whether you have gained a lot or not if you deliver early or later. Unless you have underlying medical issue .

  20. Leesa T says:

weight has absolutely nothing to do with when you go into labour if that were the case lots of babies would be born early. Also how much weight you can or should gain depends on your build before pregnancy. I was 175 before I got preg. my 1st I put on 35 lbs (delivered @ 38 weeks) went back down to 175 then with my 2nd I gained 30 lbs (delivered at 36 weeks) went back down to 180 lbs I’m 13 weeks along now with number 3 I expect to gain no more than 35 lbs cause that’s just what normal for me on top of the fact that I’m on the bigger size normally. I also expect I’ll likely go into labour between 36 and 38 weeks cause that’s just normal for me. And only 10% of women deliver on their due dates anyway most women deliver before and fewer deliver after.
