Will taking weight gain substance s-(whey protein), help or hurt my running abilities?
Well im in track and i got this weight gaining stuff to take which includes whey protein and stuff like that. I was just wandering if it will help me or may more slower?

The main goal for improving running speed is to get stronger with minimal weight gain. The weight gain drinks can sometimes just make you fat.
whey protein isn’t a weight gaining substance. it is a protein substance. i know so because its in my DIET book. and if your weigth gain isn’t muscle then yes it will negatively effect your running
You don’t want to gain weight, if you look at the elites, they’re all super thin. You can get stronger, but not at the expense of having a large upper body, and slowing you down.
Protein isn’t a weight gain substance, what it does is rebuild your muscles after a work out. It will make you faster because it builds muscles in your legs after a workout messes them up. The best time to take protein is within 45 minutes after running, this is when your body best processes food. Although, if you are taking a substance that includes protein, the rest of the ingredients could make all the difference. If it is healthy stuffs it is fine just mainly be sure there is no creatine or steroids. That would be very bad. But you probably don’t need it in fact you don’t need protein. Protein will, however, help a lot. You could also just eat protein full foods after a run instead.
