I was diagnosed with Hormonal Imbalance (Delayed and Prolonged Mentrual Periods) and my doctor prescribed me Nordette (known as a birth control pill and a regulating pill). And I should take it for 6 months.I did an own research and I found out that one of Nordette’s side effects is weight gain. Can I control it? Can I do something to control that side effect because I don’t want to gain weight. But I really have to take that pill.
omg no there really nothing you can do i gained so much weight on the pill it sucks hard core i hope you the best
Absolutely. Nearly every type of birth control contains the side effect of weight gain, however, the gain is relative. Sometimes you will gain and lose before and after menstruation. It’s all in the way your body receives the medication. I do not know very much about Nordette, but I have been on Loestrin for over a year now and one of the side effects is, of course, weight gain. However, I haven’t really gained any weight.
Different medications work different ways. Just give it a couple of months and see how it goes. If it doesn’t work for you, go back to your doctor and try something else.
with all types of birth control pills there is a chance of your weight going up or down. It all depends on your own body.
If you’re worried, ask your doctor if there is another pill you can try, or be sure to exercise regularly and eat healthy.
I took nordette and gained probably about 5 pounds. Just watch what you are eating and exercise.
Other pills that I took that were similar are Lo-Ovral and Yasmin
Ask your doctor if either of these would help you out.
Not really.
Nordette was the first birth control I was put on for the same reason as you. I did not gain weight from it.
